Elecnor Australia (formerly SecureEnergy) was awarded the engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) contract for a new 700km 330kv transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border of Transgrid’s EnergyConnect project in June 2021.
Throughout the delivery phase, Elecnor has been committed to providing economic benefit to the local and Indigenous communities along the project route. As of January 2026, more than $270 million has been spent procuring good and services from businesses and suppliers based in the local government areas, and almost $20.6 million has been spent with First Nations groups and businesses.
Elecnor Australia aims to maximise procurement of local suppliers, where possible, prioritised by three levels of business location:
