Inspiring the Next Generation: Career Pathways at Kildare Catholic College

26 March, 2026

EnergyConnect recently had the privilege of visiting Kildare Catholic College in Wagga Wagga, NSW to speak with 15 First Nations students from Years 9–11 about EnergyConnect, Australia’s largest transmission line project. Our staff explored how power and transmission lines work, what happens inside a substation, and the diverse

traineeship opportunities available in the sector.

The students were especially engaged by Elecnor’s videos showcasing how transmission lines and powerlines are constructed, life as a construction worker

and the legacy of this work, including Elecnor’s role in building camps and substations on this project.

There were fantastic questions from both the class and their teacher, including one

student already keen on becoming an electrician.

A great day of inspiring the next generation of energy talent!

We’d love to hear from you.
