Local partnerships. National impact.
Delivering major transmission infrastructure requires strong partnerships, particularly with local and regional businesses. For EnergyConnect, Elecnor worked with a network of local suppliers to support delivery across some of the more remote parts of NSW.
One of those partners is Moore’s Bus Lines, a regional business in Balranald with deep community roots. Moore’s was founded in 1976 by Aunty Joy and her husband Bill Moore, when they purchased a second-hand bus after seeing the opportunity to provide services to the local community. Today it is a First Nations-owned, family-run business with a fleet of buses and coaches doing daily school bus runs across regional NSW, including a 400km return journey from Balranald to Swan Hill – possibly the longest school run in NSW! They also provide charter services for energy infrastructure projects like EnergyConnect, mining, construction, corporate events and community groups and social club trips.
Supporting project delivery on the ground
While not a primary subcontractor to EnergyConnect, Moore’s Bus Lines has played an important supporting role across the construction phase. The company delivered large-scale logistics support, making sure our workers got from Melbourne Airport to regional accommodation camps at the start of each FIFO shift, and then took the tired teams safely and comfortably back to the airport. Moore’s also transported more than 450 Elecnor staff over two days for the Project’s annual Health and Safety staff event in Griffith in October 2025.
“We’re a small, local business, but we know how to deliver in regional areas. When opportunities come up to support projects like EnergyConnect, we step in, stay flexible and make it work –that’s what keeps things moving out here.”
Tamika Moore, Managing Director, Moore’s Bus Lines
Local capability, real impact
As a First Nations‑owned business, Moore’s delivers both capability and connection. Their work extends beyond transport, with ongoing support for local events, charities and the communities they serve.
Delivering major transmission projects relies on strong local partnerships with businesses that understand the landscape, communities and logistics of regional Australia. Elecnor is proud to have partnered with Moore’s Bus Lines on the delivery of EnergyConnect.
